Town Lake (TX) Chapter members volunteered with local children during the Summer Meals That Matter program in June of 2018. The event kicked off the food bank’s campaign to deliver 1 million summer meals for kids, families, and older adults. Local children learned about nutrition, participated in a cooking demo by a food bank chef, and enjoyed lunch on site. It was an eye-opening opportunity for the children to see up close where and how some of their meals were made. The experience highlighted the Central Texas Food Bank’s commitment to delivering fresh, tasty, healthy food to those in need.
