Welcome to the website of The Town Lake (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The Town Lake (TX) chapter was chartered on April 30, 1988, and has been enriching Austin ever since. Our chapter has a rich legacy of award-winning programming that focuses on Services to Youth (and lifelong learners), the Arts, National and International Trends, and Health and Human Services. We’ve had a presence mentoring elementary students for over 15 years, first at Campbell Elementary, followed by Norman Elementary, and now at Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Texas Empowerment Academy where we enhance their STEM education. We also have partnerships with the Austin Independent School District, the Central Texas Food Bank (through which we sponsor a backpack program at Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy during the school year), and Ronald McDonald House where we provide a meal once a month. In addition, our chapter is very proud of the fact that we provide a $20,000 scholarship annually to a student in need and scholarships to students at Austin Community College and Huston-Tillotson University.
As you can see, we are a group of women who are committed to Sisterhood, Service, and Synergy while making a difference in our community. Town Lake Chapter members are part of a chain of friendship and service making an impact all over the world. We have partnered with our Area and National leadership to charter a National Society of Black Engineers Jr. Chapter helping to close the digital divide and to increase exposure to robotics and STE(A)M careers to young people who may not have had this opportunity in the past. We also have members who serve in leadership capacities and committees on the Area and National level increasing our reach and influence. Our chapter is comprised of a diverse, talented group of women who come together as sisters to provide transformational experiences for those we come in contact with.
Mardi Gras Magic is our annual fundraiser and we hope you will attend to support us in our work while experiencing a one of a kind hospitality. Our website is a great resource to learn about our chapter and all the different activities and programs we are engaged in, so please visit often. It is my honor to have been elected to lead such a dynamic group and hope after visiting our site you agree.
In Sisterly Friendship and Connected Service,
President, Town Lake (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
