President’s Message

Welcome the Town Lake (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s website.

In 1988, the Town Lake (TX) Chapter understood and accepted the charge to improve the quality of life for disenfranchised African American citizens residing in the greater Austin-Round Rock, Texas area. Over the years, the chapter has not strayed from the premise that we can positively impact children and adults with their personal development, lifestyle, and other important areas to foster their fulfillment as human beings. Our current members are continuing to uphold this assertion, by delivering programs and activities that make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Town Lake (TX) Chapter is comprised of civic-minded professional women with a passion for service and a united focus. Members realize the difference a helping hand can make for one individual as well as for a group. From tutoring elementary school students, to presenting workshops, to readying an apartment for a housing-challenged young adult, these committed women know how to get the job done.

Town Lake (TX) Chapter operates under the authorization of the Links, Incorporated, an international, not-for-profit corporation, which is a volunteer service organization committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other people of African ancestry. As an entity, we work to perform the organization’s overall mission, “Friends transforming communities through service.” As changemakers in our local community, we embrace the challenge because there is more work to do.

You are invited and encouraged to learn more about the work of our chapter by perusing this website. Hopefully, you will be inspired to partner with us to support the critical work we perform. Your donation will allow us to augment our work and ensure we can meet the needs of those we serve. Together, we can do more for the good of others in our community.

Friends Enriching Lives Through Service.

In Friendship and Service,
