Welcome to the website of The Town Lake Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The Town Lake Chapter was chartered on April 30, 1988 and has been enriching Austin ever since. Our chapter has a rich legacy of award winning programming that focuses on Services to Youth (and lifelong learners), the Arts, National and International Trends and Health and Human Services. We’ve had a presence mentoring elementary students for over 10 years, first at Campbell elementary and now at Norman elementary where we enhance their STEM education. We also have partnerships with the Austin Independent School District, the Central Texas Food Bank (through which we sponsored a backpack program at Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy during the 2015-2016 school year) and Ronald McDonald House where we provide a meal once a month. Our members provide programming at The Settlement Home for Children twice a month and mentor young women of the Fearless Leadership Institute at the University of Texas. In addition, our chapter is very proud of the fact that we provide a $20,000 scholarship annually to a student in need and scholarships to students at Austin Community College and Huston-Tillotson University.
As you can see, we are group of women who are committed, engaged, and intentional about making a difference in our community. Town Lake members are part of a chain of friendship and service making an impact all over the world. We have partnered with our Area and National leadership to found a chapter of NSBE, Jr hoping to increase exposure to robotics and STEAM careers to young people who may not have had this opportunity in the past. We also have members who serve in leadership capacities and committees on the Area and National level increasing our reach and influence. Our chapter is made up of a diverse, talented group of women who come together as sisters to provide transformational experiences for those we come in contact with.
Mardi Gras Madness is our annual fundraiser and we hope you will attend to support us in our work while experiencing one of a kind hospitality. Our website is a great resource to learn about our chapter and all the different activities and programs we are engaged in, so please visit often. It is my honor to have been elected to lead such a dynamic group and hope after visiting our site you agree.
Intentional about sisterhood and service,
Dominique Isaac Williams
