Artist Statement

I am an artist who takes pieces of handmade paper and crafts them into figures of beautiful women who evoke a wide range of emotions. Each image embodies the essence and spirit of real women. My artwork is spiritual–the collection has the ability to speak to those who see it.

My gift as an artist is inspired by a lifetime of rich experiences with remarkable women. I was led by the Spirit in me to experiment with paper as a medium to express my emotions. I used my hands to create artwork that brought peace to my mind and a smile to my face.

For almost twelve years now I have created many women, some mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, friends and some images of the woman who is looking at a piece. A single piece can represent many women, many experiences and many phases of womanhood. Each new work is a different image with its own voice. I am in awe that life can come from pieces of paper.
